Lets Talk Burlap!

Burlap is a treasure when it comes to rustic-style decorations. It can be used in the home or outdoors, and is especially helpful for special events and holidays to help keep the rustic feel for any occasion. Though burlap is commonly used as a strong sack to harbor objects and protect them from wet environments, there is more than meets the eye to this material. When paired with the elegant frames of vintage French furniture, the end result is a happy marriage of textures that is both comfortable and luxurious! Who’d have thought?

Recently, we received an amazing shipment of French, Louis XV style furniture from Europe! The frames were kept in its original finish, but the pieces were reupholstered in beautiful, burlap fabric. We just loved how it came out! Rustic and cozy, yet elegant! The two textures of the burlap and the distressed furniture work very well together. We also have a gorgeous line of Burlap Pillows from Garden Adornments. Each pillow is printed with a pretty, French style image. Can you imagine a bunch of these on a burlap settee? To die for!

~My Home Featured on French Charmed~

I want to offer my warmest thanks to Aimee Boschet and her beautiful family, for submitting these photos of their gorgeous California home! This fireplace is so romantic ~ Carefully selected white iron pieces, with just a touch of green in the topiaries, really make this fireplace an outstanding focal point.

Beautiful blue walls provide the backdrop for this dreamy haven ~ In keeping with the French theme, Aimee has used gold and chocolate tones to add warmth to the master suite.

Wow! Imagine growing up in this wonderful room ~ I'm sure Aimee had just as much fun decorating this space, as her daughter has had playing in it ~ I just love the petite furniture.

Aimee has an amazing office / creative space ~ She keeps it neat and organized ~ Spice racks fill up one wall and contain the many items she uses to create fabulous finds.

This elegant entrance is so inviting!

Aimee has placed little luxuries all around her home ~ Just a few inexpensive touches like these hydrangea petals, will enhance any decor ~ And what a great idea to place a few glass or crystal bottles on an old serving tray.

The dining area is simply casual elegance ~ Aimee completes the Country French look with this fabulous hutch ~ Did you notice the chicken wire? I love it!

This kitchen is as beautiful as it is functional ~ Note the detail in the woodwork.

Garden Adornments

Aimee at Garden Adornments recently announced the release of some great new products. Her French-inspired bucket totes are beautiful decorative items. They are also a stylish, yet functional, way to store toys, magazines, bath & body items, and more. You can also use them to surprise a friend by turning a bucket tote into a gift basket. Aimee also debuted French-inspired sacks featuring a twine handle. She demonstrates on her blog various ways to utilize the sacks, such as using them to cover plant pots. Very clever! Another new addition to the Garden Adornments product line is the beautiful wall banner. This is a great way to add a bit of French flair to your space. Check back soon for tote bags that will come in handy while scouring local flea markets, traveling and much more.

Aimee Boschet recently closed her Home & Garden Boutique to focus on her lovely pillow collection, which has garnered lots of attention. With retailers in multiple states and in British Columbia, as well as wide-spread attention from print and online media, Aimee has remained quite busy! Garden Adornments showcases her screen printed French-inspired pillow designs. My favorite designs are the Romantic French Dress Form and the Paris Flea Market. This talented designer is also planning to branch out into furniture upholstery. Since her blog post titled My Renovated Studio and things I love to Create, Aimee has had a lot of interest from customers wanting to have their chairs and stools recovered with her Burlap Pillow Designs. Aimee is a very talented designer and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for her.

~A Day at the Little French Flea Market~

The gorgeous Hidden Chateau and Gardens located in West Hills, California. This is where the Little French Flea Market is held.

Me and Ann... She is such a great friend and always has beautiful items to choose from. I always end up buying something from her...

I love this idea attaching vintage shutters (my favorite) to an ordinary cupboard!

I love this piece she made. She took a vintage frame and added chicken wire to it and some small clothespins. What a great way to display your favroite pictures!
